YSL have just launched a brand new fragrance and mascara as a duo- Black Opium Floral Shock and The Shock mascara. This is the first time that YSL have done a make up and fragrance co-launch, and it's a good one.
Around this time last year, I wrote about L'Oreal Paris' VML Feline mascara and loved it. In fact, since then- I purchased around 5 tubes of the stuff. I've always said that spending lots of money on a single mascara isn't necessary as there are loads out there that perform well, and L'Oreal Paris have proved this to be true once again with the launch of their new mascara, VML Fatale.
Until recently, there hasn't really been anything new or exciting from Revlon. But now they've done something incredibly brave by discontinuing their entire mascara line. Their previous mascaras have now been replaced by a brand new collection. At first, I thought it was a shame that the original line was being discontinued (I was a fan of the Lash Plumping Mascara) but after trying the new mascaras, I believe this was a good move for Revlon.
The new packaging isn't as glamourous as Revlon's previous mascaras, but I think the simplicity of them can be a good thing as it allows consumers to know exactly what they're getting, rather than simply being influenced by fancy packaging. I'm a sucker for pretty packaging so this definitely applies to me!
L'Oreal Paris recently unveiled a new addition to the Volume Million Lashes mascara line- Feline. I'm lucky enough to already have quite long eyelashes, so a mascara has to be very special enough for me to love it, and I think this one is brilliant. L'Oreal Paris have thrown this one out of the park!

It was imperative for me to get my hands on the latest Miss Manga Punky mascara by L'Oreal Paris, particularly after seeing the advertising for it.
When I saw bold clumpy lashes, I kind of thought "Isn't this a step-backwards in the beauty industry?!". I mean, us girls have been trying to avoid clumped up lashes for years- why on earth would we want to purchase something that supposedly offers this, but in exaggerated form?
However after trying out the product, I've come to the interesting conclusion that it's actually not that bad, and the advertising images are an exaggeration of what the product can do.
Wonderfull is a new mascara from Rimmel London that has really impressed me recently, and guess what? It has Argan oil in it. Wow argan's everywhere now! The last place I'd imagine the stuff in was a mascara, but Rimmel has only gone and done it. I don't actually own that many mascaras- but I had to get this one when I saw that Argan was a key ingredient.
Some mascaras promising lots of volume to your lashes tend to be quite clumpy as most 'volumising' brushes are thick, but I've been using this mascara lately, and to my surprise- it doesn't clump at all.
After the success of Revlon's Grow Luscious Mascara last year, Revlon did a pretty good job on creating a second mascara in the Grow Luscious range. The Grow Luscious Plumping mascara was born!
If you've tried both of these mascaras, you would've realised that the brushes are obviously a lot different; whilst the Grow Luscious mascara had an oversized brush with level bristles, the Grow Luscious Plumping mascara has a narrow tip with a 'bristly' brush- allowing every lash to be coated (even the ones in the corner of your eye), and that too with precision.
When this mascara is applied, it doesn't dry up quickly before you choose to add a second coat. Usually if the mascara dries up and you add a second coat, you end up with really clumped lashes that you won't be able to get rid of without re-doing your make-up! Revlon's Grow Luscious Plumping mascara allows you to apply a second coat properly by allowing you to re-shape, plump and define your lashes.
You'll have no trouble with smudging with this mascara, although this could be annoying when you want to take your make-up off as it'll be quite stubborn- but hey, the make-up remover is always a good friend...
The mascara retails at £9.99 and can be purchased at Boots and Superdrug stores.
