Toni & Guy Fluid Metal Styler

Toni & Guy have recently launched their new Fluid Metal Styler, which is just beautiful! Featuring colourful iridescent plates inspired by this season's metallic trends, the new styler makes a brilliant gift for Christmas. I'm a big fan of iridescent finishes, but this is the first time I've seen iridescent plates on a set of hair stylers.

REVIEW | ghd Platinum Styler

I'm a big fan of ghd- I currently own 3 of their stylers and 2 ghd air hair dryers and wouldn't give them up for anything! So when they recently launched their exciting new Platinum Styler which has received lots of praise from press and customers, I felt compelled to give it a go myself.

The white Platinum Styler looks super sleek and elegant; I love the glossy finish and the black coloured plates. Some features of the original ghd stylers remain the same for the new Platinum Styler, for example: the automatic shut off (lifesaver!), the super sleek plates, and swivel cord. But the important question, is...

How is the Platinum Styler different to the original ghd Stylers? (Pros)

I've been using the new styler to straighten my hair, and in my opinion are the best straighteners I've used to date. These are also much better than the original ghds.

Light and easy to hold- The delicate design of the styler makes straightening your hair a pleasure, as it's very gentle and not at all bulky.

Even glossier plates- These make the stylers literally glide through the hair. There was reduced snagging with the original ghd stylers and there's none whatsoever with the Platinum. The glossy plates also leave my hair feeling really smooth all day.

Wishbone hinge- A very fascinating feature of the Platinum, allowing you more control of the plates as you don't have to style your hair with pressure (something I'm guilty of!). If you're used to the original ghds, you may have to get used to the Platinum at first as you don't have to work so hard to style your hair. It's much lighter to use, making it brilliant for both straightening and curling your hair.

The wishbone hinge also ensures that your hair won't caught in the hinges. Admittedly, I always get my hair caught in the hinges of straighteners, but it's funny because I only realised how often it occurred/annoyed me until now. ghd are very, very clever to have addressed this problem!

Tri-Zone Heat Technology- Heat is equally distributed throughout the plates, allowing kinder and consistent styling. This ensures less hair breakage and is apparently helps a lot with coloured hair. Also, my hair was fully straightened from messy/curly hair in less than 8 minutes- which is very quick in my experience! I've also found that I don't have to re-straighten my hair the next day.

On/off press button- rather than a switch (I'm not sure why, but I prefer this).

Left: Before styling (Towel dried hair). Right: Straightened using the Platinum Styler.

I tried so hard to find something negative to say about the Platinum but it was so difficult because it's such a brilliant styler, but I guess there is one little thing. The Platinum Styler is not available with wide plates, which is a shame because ghd's Gold Max Stylers are very popular- especially amongst those with frizzy hair. Hopefully this is something ghd might work on.

Is it worth £165?

Definitely. I know from personal experience that ghds are a very, very good investment. As well as the new Platinum, I currently own 3 of their Stylers (Katy Perry, Red Gloss IV, and Gold Max) and 3 ghd airs. They all still work perfectly fine and are regularly used by myself and my sisters almost everyday.

I'm glad I've discovered something that's life-changing in a way (yes- constantly smooth hair and not having to re-style it the next day is life-changing for me haha!)

If you're a big fan of ghd but are looking for something a little more premium, I'd definitely recommend going for the Platinum Styler. If you've tried it, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!

The ghd Platinum Styler is priced at £165 and can be purchased at

Easilocks 'Hair Hero' launch

I was invited to the Easilocks launch at the Sanderson Hotel yesterday where they were launching their new 'Hair Hero' Styler; a 3-in-1 hair styler that can straighten, curl, and add soft waves to hair. It's such an innovative product and is being fronted by Binky Felstead from Made In Chelsea who was also there at the launch.
I had my hair styled using the Hair Hero styler and I was very impressed- my hair went from straight to wavy in less than 10 minutes! I was gutted when I had to tie my hair up for bed haha. Here is a pic of my hair whilst browsing in H&M.

My Experience With Hairfinity

Hairfinity is a vitamin hair supplement that has taken the beauty world by storm- even the Kardashians swear by it. A couple of months ago, I was sent some Hairfinity supplements and have so far experienced some very positive results from them.

Hairfinity claims to speed up hair growth, reduce hair shedding, and increase its strength. It is recommend that you take two capsules a day and to my relief, you can sprinkle the contents into water or juice. The capsules are pretty large, and there was no way I was going to even attempt to swallow a capsule that big.

Aveda Smooth Infusion: Style Prep Smoother

My hair is naturally wavy but borderline frizzy, and don't get me started on it's condition in humid weather. I hate those days when my hair refuses to behave itself.

My local hair salon uses Aveda products so I purchase products directly from there and my hairdresser recommended that I use Aveda's Smooth Infusion Style Prep Smoother. I gave it a go as Aveda products have a good track-record with me and my hair.

Lee Stafford DeTangling Spray review

After washing my hair, it can become ridiculously tangled, thus being a nightmare to deal with. In comes Lee Stafford's DeTangling Spray, a lightweight spray that helps to moisturise the hair and allow the brush to gently work through any tangles.

I've never tried a hair detangling spray before so I  didn't really have a set level of expectations, but I feel that the product has worked well for me. I use the spray every time I wash my hair just before I blow dry it. It has a nice smell to it, and definitely keeps my hair feeling a lot more soft, which has always been something I've struggled with as I have fine hair that's not as thick as it used to be.

Pixie Lott for Batiste dry shampoo

Pixie Lott was recently announced as the first ever celebrity ambassador for Batiste- dry shampoo royalty! As an ambassador, Pixie Lott launched her own fragranced dry shampoo for Batiste, who are well known for their extensive range of fragranced dry shampoos.

Lee Stafford Poker Straight DeHumidifier!

My hair never behaves itself in the Summer- I have naturally quite curly hair that can get really frizzy and messy in humid weather, and we've had a lot of that over the last couple of weeks in the UK.

Lee Stafford's Poker Straight DeHumidifier is a very light hairspray designed to fight frizz, and it's my hero for when I've blow-dried and straightened my hair. It can be a real pain when you've spent so long doing your hair only for it to be ruined by humid weather.

I was actually surprised as to how well it worked as my hair tends to be rebellious; I lightly sprayed the DeHumidifier over my hair before I went off to a barbeque a few weeks ago, and it proved its brilliance to me. The DeHumidifier tames my hair, prevents it from frizzing and much to my joy, keeps it straight all day. Frizz from humidity is something I've battled for years and this is the perfect solution for me; it takes seconds to spray on and it's very light so your hair doesn't feel heavy from product build-up.

Vidal Sassoon Curling Tongs!

I naturally have wavy hair but it can sometimes get very frizzy and messy at times- much to my frustration. The Vidal Sassoon tongs creates amazingly defined curls as well as waves so it's great for me to create curls or perfect the odd wave.

TRESemme Liquid Gold Restorative Complex Perfecting Treatment!

I was roaming around Superdrug a couple of months ago, and noticed that TRESemme products were on sale for half price, and that's when I also spotted TRESemme's Liquid Gold Restorative Complex Perfecting Treatment (which, for short- I call 'Liquid Gold') which I then purchased.

The first thing I'll say about this treatment is that it smells lovely and will make your hair smell lovely too. The treatment is infused with Argan Oil- a considered diamond in the current haircare industry, and to me and my 'curly-sometimes-frizzy' hair.

Introducing... The Mother Hair Styler!

The Mother Hair Styler is a professional salon hair styler that launched in the UK back in June and it has really impressed me!

The main feature of the styler is the inter-changeable plates that you can easily swap depending on what style you're aiming to achieve, so whether you want to straighten your hair quickly and more efficiently with wide straightening plates or just straighten your fringe or create some bangs with the smaller plates, the Mother hair styler is the perfect tool that's so versatile!

ghd Pop-up Air Boutique!

ghd Pop-up Air Boutique- taken from ghd's Facebook page
Yesterday I had a blow-dry at ghd's newly launched Pop-up Air Boutique, and I absolutely loved the experience!

My hair was blow-dried and styled by Jo- the education manager at ghd who was absolutely lovely, and most definitely the best and most friendliest stylist I have ever met! I asked for my hair to be waved towards the ends, and Jo very kindly took a picture of the back of my hair with my phone. I was gutted when I had to tie it up for bed that night!

Lee Stafford Poker Straight range!

Straight hair is something that many women wish to possess; it's a lot easier to handle and style, looks longer and sleeker, and is very versatile in terms of hair-style choices. So let me introduce you to Lee Stafford's Poker Straight range!
The Poker Straight range!
Using straightening products such as the Lee Stafford Poker Straight range will make your hair a lot easier to straighten as well as making it a lot smoother and sleeker, allowing your hair to stay lovely and straight for longer- even if your hair is naturally straight!

★ Shampoo & Conditioner (£5.49):
These are packaged in cute little 250ml pink bottles which look so trendy and cool in the bathroom! Plus, these smell lovely and healthy. They claim to 'silken, soften and shine' and helps to combat static hair- which I definitely think worked when used with the Intensive Care Treatment.

Lee Stafford from Morocco Miracle Shine Spray!

In the past I've hauled so many beauty products promising to add gloss and shine to my hair (you can never go wrong with shiny hair!), but I never seemed to find the right one; for example, some would smell awful and chemical-like, some were sticky, and some just never worked at all.

Last Autumn I fell in love with Lee Stafford's Argan Oil- which I NEVER fail to use every time I wash my hair (and my bottle only just finished! That's what I call long-lasting!). The product really transformed my hair in the long-run from messy frizzy, brittle hair to softer, silkier waves! Lee Stafford's Argan Oil has always been my number one consistent product (I always brand-switch!), and I certainly wouldn't be able to live without it!

So when Lee Stafford recently launched a Miracle Shine Spray as an addition to the ArganOil range, I was really intrigued to try it.

The spray has the same scent as Lee Stafford's Argan Oil, which I weirdly like. The product also has elements of Argan Oil so it's a spray that nourishes the hair at the same time as 'Glossing it up'.

Another great aspect of the product and it's design is that the spray nozzle is a 'mist' nozzle. The reason why I think this is great, is because I used to use another shine spray with a normal spray nozzle, so if I straightened my hair, a lot of product would spray onto my hair, and cause it to slightly frizz. The mist nozzle on Lee Stafford's Miracle Shine Spray makes it easier to quickly spray some shine onto your hair without ruining the style.
The amount of shine offered from the product is good- although if you want a few locks of your hair to look more shinier than the rest of your hair- for example, highlighted bits- then it's better to mist the shine spray slightly closer to your hair than you usually would.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Lee Stafford? Are there any hair-shine products you swear by?

Again, if you have rough, frizzy, or untamable hair- give Argan Oil a go! I couldn't recommend it enough and no matter how many times I try and find something negative about it, I can't.

ghd Red Gloss IV Styler!

ghd has recently launched their Gloss Styler range, limited edition stylers that are glossier than ever before!

My hair is long so it usually takes me ages (meaning half an hour) to straighten it with an ordinary straightener but with ghd's, it takes less than 10 minutes!
The stylers are available in a glossy red, and a glossy black colour and they retail at £99 each. The question I'm most asked regarding ghd's- whether they be from Bags of Beauty readers, to friends and family- is whether ghd's are actually worth the hefty price tag.

I'd say they definitely are because ghd products always have the consumer in mind; it's so annoying when you have to style your hair without being bound to the nearest electrical socket, so it's great that ghd stylers have a long swivel cord meaning that you can style your hair freely without that stiff feeling where the straighteners refuse to twist and turn when plugged in.

Plus- it's very easy for a girl to leave her straighteners on when rushing out of the house, so it's a great thing that the ghd styler automatically turns off when idle for 30 minutes, so if you've rushed out of the house and you're worried that you may have left your straightener's on (I'm pretty sure every female has experienced this!), then you needn't have a mini panic attack by using a ghd styler.

Also, when you purchase a ghd styler you are entitled to a two-year free manufacturer's guarantee, so if your styler stops working, you're in safe hands!
However, it's a little annoying that ghd regularly launches limited edition stylers that are always beautifully designed, because it'll cost a fortune to buy every single one of them! :(

The ghd Red Gloss IV Styler comes on its own- i.e. without a mini clutch-type pouch for the styler, which would've made a brilliant addition to the product as I can imagine the styler becoming scratched due to its high-gloss finish. This doesn't affect my highly positive opinion of the styler though, and I'd recommend it to anyone- especcially if you're a fan of all things neat and shiny!

What do you think of the ghd Red Gloss IV Styler? Are you tempted to get one for yourselves?

I love, love, love Lee Stafford's ArganOil Nourishing Miracle Oil!

This time last year, I didn't have a hair product that I could call 'Made For Me', which I found quite frustrating; my hair was so untamable and I didn't want to go for the chop- my hair goes down to my waist! My hair was frizzy and it always looked messy, plus I didn't want to be bound to using straighteners every single day. I needed a product that would tame my hair without reducing its moisture and shine, and thankfully, I found one.

Lee Stafford's ArganOil Nourishing Miracle Oil is probably the only product I couldn't live without (apart from eyeliner that is!)- and yes- I will only use Lee Stafford's! When I was a child, my Mum used to apply Coconut Oil in my hair, making it strong and silky. Despite this, I really dislike Coconut Oil! The smell, greasiness and heaviness really annoyed me, so this made me skeptical about using Argan Oil at first.

However, Lee Stafford's Argan Oil is the total opposite to other hair oils; it's incredibly lightweight, non-sticky, and smells lovely! I always use a few drops of Argan Oil when my hair is damp after I've washed my hair so it's easier to apply.

That's not it, Lee Stafford's Argan Oil doesn't just make your hair smooth and tamable until you've washed your hair the next time- it improves the health and appearance of your hair overall. I've definitely noticed a difference, and so have my friends! That's why it's a really good idea to use it every time you wash your hair. Also, you should avoid applying Argan Oil into the roots of your hair as this will make your hair greasier a lot quicker than usual!

Lee Stafford's ArganOil Nourishing Miracle Oil retails at £14.99- yes, I was shocked at the price too but seriously, a little goes a really long way with this product. I started using my bottle in November and I've only used half of it! And I have long hair! I treasure my cute little bottle of Argan Oil; I even have a little space for it on my desk!

£14.99 is a brilliant investment for healthier, smooth locks. I haven't used another brand of Argan Oil, but Lee Stafford's Argan Oil has already totally won me over so I don't really need to. Every time I hear a friend, or a friend of a friend complain about how dull or unhealthy their hair looks, I always recommend Lee Stafford's Argan Oil!

I also  love Lee Stafford's ArganOil Deep Nourishing Treatment mask, and I'll be writing about that very soon!

Have you tried Argan Oil? I'd highly recommend Lee Stafford's if you're looking to give it a go!

Ooh La La! Katy Perry as a Mermaid for ghd!

Katy Perry stars in this new advertising campaign for the ghd Air- a hairdryer providing you girlies with the best salon quality and performance! Doesn't Katy look brilliantly gorgeous here?!

We love Katy Perry as a shimmery mermaid! We'd be sooo excited if this ad was to be seen on  billboards- it'd be Katy Perry ghd mania!

Bags of Beauty Blog: ghd Limited Edition Scarlet Set

As you may have already guessed with a couple of our previous posts, we LOVE Katy Perry! So we were thrilled that she was the face of the new ghd limited edition Scarlet Collection.

The first thing that left us with our mouths open was the pretty design of the styler; it has scarlet plates that are so smooth and the overall design is so sleek that it strangely makes styling your hair a lot more fun (even if your hair may be untamable).

I used to have really annoying frizzy hair that I tended to neglect because no hair products or stylists could treat. I have curly hair that can get frizzy when its been damaged by the winter or the sun, and these ghd's still managed to straighten my hair professionally even when it was 'frizzily damaged'- amazing- I couldn't believe my eyes! I will put some pictures up when my camera if fixed!

Why use ghd?
- Incredible fast heat-up- 2 seconds literally!
- A lovely musical sound when they're turned on!
- Super smooth plates leaving your hair smooth and shiny
- A heat resistant mat which also forms a lovely clutch-type bag to keep your styler in
- The contoured edges of the plates make straightening your hair a lot easier as it tends not to grab or pull your hair like other stylers do.
- Styled hair lasts longer with ghd.

Also, all ghd products come with a 2 year Guarantee so don't be afraid to use your styler as if you have any problems, you can contact ghd and have it replaced if it stops working. I wish I still had the guarantee on my camera, so it would be fixed quickly so I can show you some pictures! I haven't experienced any problems yet, but I hope I don't!

The ghd Scarlet styler set retails at £129 and can be purchased at some salons and

Celebrity Hair Trends: November/December

‘Side’ hairstyles are a significant trend this season, and because it’s Christmas soon, here’s a selection of the very best side hair trends and styles for December!

We love Beyonce. Everybody loves Beyonce. So take a leaf out of her book and sport the Side-Plait hairstyle with a super-glam outfit- like in the image on the left- to party the night away this Christmas!

Beyonce’s Side-Plait compliments her simple and natural make-up choices, which includes lightly blushed cheeks, a light eye shadow base and a pink lip-gloss.

The hairstyle looks even more fab with her ombre’d hair so the style is making the best out of both colours of her hair.

Beyonce’s choice of a side-fringe makes the overall look a lot more trendy and chic.

Who knew that such a simple style would make you feel just like a star?

Camilla Belle looks absolutely stunning here with her side-parted up-do and this is a perfect, practical hairstyle for Christmas dos.

Up-dos and buns are associated with elegance, so choosing a side parting can alternate the look according to how you want your overall hairstyle to look.

A side parting can add a sparkling touch of glamour to anyone’s hairstyle, and will grant you a Red Carpet look in minutes!

Camilla’s choice of a fuchsia coloured lipstick adds femininity to her overall look and makes her look quite sophisticated.

October/November Celebrity Hair Trends!

The hottest fashion hair, and celebrity hair trends this month are hair buns! You probably wouldn’t believe that such a simple style would hit the ‘Trends book’, but anyone can look stunning with their hair up in a bun, whichever look you wish to create!

If you’re not sure whether a bun is the right hairstyle choice, take a look at these celebrities and their hair buns…

Hayden Panettiere
Here’s an image of Hayden Panettiere back in 2009 sporting the ‘Bun’ hairstyle- which she totally rocks!

Her hair bun is styled low and volumised, which is then finished with a long side fringe.

This style goes very well with Hayden’s choice of a ‘Smokey eye’ look, and a nude lip as it balances her overall look out, making her look as perfect as a ‘Red carpet’ superstar! Smokey eyes and nude lips are a huge trend for this winter! Although this image of her is from 2009, this look is must to be re-created this season!

Freida Pinto
Actress and model, Freida Pinto has always had the most enviously beautiful hair- it’s long, shiny, and rich in colour.

Freida makes the right decision in opting for a low hair bun with a side parting (which is also a brilliant hair trend for this season). She also adds a touch of Hollywood glamour to her look by making her hair curve down towards her ears.

A pink glossy lip look and a ‘Smokey eye’ look finish the look by sealing in natural and simple tones to go with her rich ebony coloured hair.

Sophie Habibis
X Factor 2011 contestant, Sophie looks gorgeous here as she achieves a glamorous look with her amazing, unique hairstyle as she hears the results on the X Factor.

Her hair is styled into a high bun that is beautifully fanned out to create extra definition and attention to her hair. The fanned out bun-style is also made even lovelier with Sophie’s fringe, which not only frames her face, but also makes her look more like a Hollywood glamour girl!
