Chanel LA Sunrise: Illusion D'Ombre in Griffith Green

Chanel recently launched their L.A. Sunrise collection, and here I have one of the Illusion D'Ombre Eyeshadows in Griffith Green. If anyone was to ask me what my favourite eyeshadow is, Chanel's Illusion D'Ombre would be my answer- without a doubt. Yes- they're priced at £25 each but the quality of them exceeds almost every eyeshadow I've tried.

Top 6 Summer Lip Products

Summer's here! So here is a cut of my favourite lip products for the season. This post was meant to be a 'Top 5', but I just had to squeeze in another, so 'Top 6' it is! Most of these are newly launched, but a couple are old favourites, and I've tried to include a variety of shades into the mix.
From left to right: Chanel Coco Rouge Lipstick in 'Misia' || Barry M Lip Paint (Pink) || Bourjois Rouge Aqua Laque Lipstick in 'Babe Idole' || Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Crayon (Red) || Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Matte Lipstick in 'Raspberry' || NYX Lip Butter in 'Fun Size'

Chanel Illusion D'ombre Eyeshadow in 'Mirage'

My favourite product from Chanel has to be their Illusion D'Ombre Eyeshadows- I currently own Emerville, Mirifique, and now the latest 'Mirage': a shimmery golden copper shade. Mirage shines beautifully in the reflection of the light, and is versatile enough to create both a day or night look.

It comes with a mini Chanel eyeshadow brush but to be honest, because the texture is so creamy I prefer to actually apply it using my finger. The colour is also very build-able so whether you prefer a subtle or a bold look, the eyeshadow can, and will deliver either. Plus, the formula being incredibly soft allows you to blend it well.

Bags of Beauty Blog: Chanel Illusion D'Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow

Cream eyeshadows have been all the rage recently, and by what I've heard; Chanel have the best range in the premium market! I checked out and tested the Chanel Illusion D'Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow for myself, and I love it!

The packaging and design of this product is absolutely gorgeous- the eyeshadow pot looks very sleek and elegant, and it also comes with a cute, handy little brush to apply the eyeshadow with! The little angled brush is great because of its sturdiness which really works with the cream consistency of the eyeshadow.
The eyeshadow is very soft and fine in texture, and it easily glides onto your eyelids without a primer! Speaking of eye primers, these eyeshadows lasted me all day without one! And there was no sign of a crease either!

The tried this eyeshadow in 86 E'Bloui- a metallic, shimmery maroon colour, which is perfect for a subtle daytime look, as well as a smokey eyes for a night-look. But, the eyeshadow when swatched, looks more of a purple/violet colour which is a really nice touch because of its shimmer.

Have you tried these before? What do you think?

Spring Make-Up Trends for 2012: Nails

Pastels and brights are huge this season and you can't express this exciting trend better than with the colour of your nails! Let's take a look at the nail colours from the Spring 2012 Collections of premium brands.

In YSL's Spring 2012 Collection, there is a mint green shade, a neon orange shade, a candy-floss pink shade, and a deep brown shade.

Chanel have opted for light yet vibrant apricot shade, and a ballerina pink shade in terms of pastel colours, but also in the collection is a red/brown shade for those who'd rather opt for deep, strong lacquer shades.

Dior have launched two neon nail lacquer shades in their Spring Collection; one shade is a royal purple, and the other is a bright green- both shades are quite florescent so you'd really be making a statement with these.

Givenchy has a classic red nail lacquer shade, keeping the red nails tradition alive.

Thankfully, you don't have to splurge and break the bank for these lovely colours- here are some affordable alternatives from the Andrea Fulerton range that are just as awesome.

Andrea Fulerton is a celebrity nail technician with her very own nail range available in Superdrug. The nail colours are amazing for quick-drying, non chipping nail colour with an good brush that easily paints your nails with a colour that lasts long.

These colours are from the main Andrea Fulerton range- which just about says that she pretty much has every occasion colour covered.

Bags of Beauty Blog: Bits and Bobs from the Chanel 2011 Christmas Collection!

We're in love with the Chanel Christmas Collection, so we thought we'd share our faves from the collection:

Chanel Lipstick in Famous
You can never go wrong with sporting a red lipstick at Christmas!

Chanel's Christmas collection lipstick in Famous is a red, shimmery colour that's not too bright and not too deep- perfect for those glam Christmas events!

The lipstick is quite pigmented, but that may terrify some of you girls who have the 'Red Lipstick Phobia'. Never fear though, this lipstick has some sort of pinky/coral shimmery hue to it, that makes it look beautiful and not so full on as other red lipsticks!

Chanel Lip-Gloss
Super glossy and shimmery, this lip-gloss is a defo must for Christmas and NYE parties if you're one of those girls who love a little glamour, however expressed with subtlety and not too full-on.

This lip-gloss is a light ballet pink colour that is really smooth, making it easy to apply and glide onto your lips.

On the other hand, if you do love full-on and bursts of colour, you can apply the lip-gloss over the lipstick from the Christmas collection for a glossy, shimmery finish, that will also make your lipstick last longer and crown you the Queen of Christmas Glamour!

Chanel Duo Eyeshadows
These eye-shadows are so gorgeous that we fell in love with them immediately! They have the best features- they're super pigmented, lovely colours, and they're shimmery and last quite a long time too.

The vanilla colour can be used as a sheer base for a smoky eyed look, or even on its own for a natural look, and the shimmery black colour can be applied 'winged out' along with the vanilla coloured base. Smoky eyes are a huge trend this winter!

You also receive an applicator and a brush so you can create whatever style you want. The product also comes in a cute little pouch with the Chanel logo on it!

Have you brought a few bits from Chanel's 2011 Christmas collection? What are your favourite products?

Autumn/Winter 2011 Make Up Trends!

The season of autumn has fallen upon us, which marks a drastic change in make-up trends since summer has come to an end.

Smokey Eyes:
Sporting a Smokey eyes look in the Autumn Season will add a touch of glamour, femininity, and sexiness to your personality.

The Smokey eye look is all about playing around with it to achieve the look of your preference; a Smokey eye look can be created using any colour, and you can choose whether you want your look to be bold or subtle. The best bit is that you can even add a little shimmer!

Smokey eye make-up can, not only give you a wide-eyed look, but can also make a dramatic and powerful statement about yourself.

How to create a Smokey Eye look:
      1.    Apply some concealer under your eyes and over your eyelids to create a base for when you apply eye shadow.
      2.    Line your eyes with an eyeliner (Use a pencil eyeliner to create an even more Smokey effect)
      3. Apply a dark coloured eye shadow onto the base of your eyelid- however, don’t apply over the whole eye area.
4.    4. Next, use a lighter coloured eye shadow and apply it above where you have applied the dark eye shadow.
5.    5. Blend the two colours together using an eye-shadow blending brush.
6.    6. Add a coat or two of volumising mascara.
7.    7. Use a brush to clear up any messy eye shadow underneath or around your eyes.

Nude Lips:
If you choose to go for a Smokey eyed look, the best option for your lips is to go nude! This is to make your eyes more of a focal point of people’s attention. A nude/pink lip adds a touch of glamour to your look, and like they always say: Less is more!

Choose nude shades lip colours to go with Smokey eye make up will balance out the colour on your face.

Follow these steps for perfect nude lips:
       1.    Moisturise your lips using a lip balm- this is essential as dry or chapped lips will be seen at its worst when lipstick is applied.
       2.    Lightly line your lips with a lip-pencil in a similar colour to your foundation.
     3.    Apply a lipstick that is similar to your skin tone.
      4.    If you want a gloss finish, apply a clear lip-gloss.

Tip: Use a lip primer before you apply the lip-pencil and lipstick if you want your lipstick to last on your lips longer.

Tip: If you wish to make your lips slightly lighter, apply some concealer over your lips and then use a creamy lip colour!
