Real Techniques Collector's Edition Deluxe Gift Set

I always get ridiculously excited when I spot a new Real Techniques launch- it's my favourite brush brand and Sam and Nic from Pixiwoo are so amazing and inspiring! Real Techniques brushes are cruelty-free and have always been very soft, affordable, and efficient. This month, Real Techniques fans will be able to get their hands on a super-cool Collector's Edition Deluxe Gift Set.

The gift set includes 5 brushes which includes 2 exclusive cuts, and are all the brushes you need to make-up a full face. Also thrown in is a sleek clutch to keep them in. It's a brilliant gift idea and I know I'll be purchasing these in bulk in the run-up to Christmas this year! I have four sisters haha!

REVIEW | ghd Platinum Styler

I'm a big fan of ghd- I currently own 3 of their stylers and 2 ghd air hair dryers and wouldn't give them up for anything! So when they recently launched their exciting new Platinum Styler which has received lots of praise from press and customers, I felt compelled to give it a go myself.

The white Platinum Styler looks super sleek and elegant; I love the glossy finish and the black coloured plates. Some features of the original ghd stylers remain the same for the new Platinum Styler, for example: the automatic shut off (lifesaver!), the super sleek plates, and swivel cord. But the important question, is...

How is the Platinum Styler different to the original ghd Stylers? (Pros)

I've been using the new styler to straighten my hair, and in my opinion are the best straighteners I've used to date. These are also much better than the original ghds.

Light and easy to hold- The delicate design of the styler makes straightening your hair a pleasure, as it's very gentle and not at all bulky.

Even glossier plates- These make the stylers literally glide through the hair. There was reduced snagging with the original ghd stylers and there's none whatsoever with the Platinum. The glossy plates also leave my hair feeling really smooth all day.

Wishbone hinge- A very fascinating feature of the Platinum, allowing you more control of the plates as you don't have to style your hair with pressure (something I'm guilty of!). If you're used to the original ghds, you may have to get used to the Platinum at first as you don't have to work so hard to style your hair. It's much lighter to use, making it brilliant for both straightening and curling your hair.

The wishbone hinge also ensures that your hair won't caught in the hinges. Admittedly, I always get my hair caught in the hinges of straighteners, but it's funny because I only realised how often it occurred/annoyed me until now. ghd are very, very clever to have addressed this problem!

Tri-Zone Heat Technology- Heat is equally distributed throughout the plates, allowing kinder and consistent styling. This ensures less hair breakage and is apparently helps a lot with coloured hair. Also, my hair was fully straightened from messy/curly hair in less than 8 minutes- which is very quick in my experience! I've also found that I don't have to re-straighten my hair the next day.

On/off press button- rather than a switch (I'm not sure why, but I prefer this).

Left: Before styling (Towel dried hair). Right: Straightened using the Platinum Styler.

Cons

I tried so hard to find something negative to say about the Platinum but it was so difficult because it's such a brilliant styler, but I guess there is one little thing. The Platinum Styler is not available with wide plates, which is a shame because ghd's Gold Max Stylers are very popular- especially amongst those with frizzy hair. Hopefully this is something ghd might work on.

Is it worth £165?

Definitely. I know from personal experience that ghds are a very, very good investment. As well as the new Platinum, I currently own 3 of their Stylers (Katy Perry, Red Gloss IV, and Gold Max) and 3 ghd airs. They all still work perfectly fine and are regularly used by myself and my sisters almost everyday.

I'm glad I've discovered something that's life-changing in a way (yes- constantly smooth hair and not having to re-style it the next day is life-changing for me haha!)

If you're a big fan of ghd but are looking for something a little more premium, I'd definitely recommend going for the Platinum Styler. If you've tried it, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!

The ghd Platinum Styler is priced at £165 and can be purchased at www.ghdhair.com

BOSS Runway Edition Fragrances

Before Nuit launched in 2012, Hugo Boss wouldn't have ever crossed my mind when thinking of one of my favourite fragrance brands.

Nuit, Jour and Ma Vie changed everything for the BOSS Woman fragrance brand, making it more feminine, and sophisticated. For me, BOSS Woman Orange just wasn't cutting it. So it's great that the fragrance trio are being celebrated by their re-launch as Runway Edition fragrances this month. The new editions have three statement looks inspired by Jason Wu on the bottles and packaging.

No7 Colour Your Way

As a child, I always used to watch my Mum apply her make up- she absolutely loved No7 and had a whole drawer full of their products! So I became very familiar with the brand whilst growing up. No7 has always been very good at helping women feel better about themselves and changing beauty norms and boundaries; and their brand new 'Colour Your Way' campaign is no exception to this.

Tuesday

Clinique PopStop!

Today, Clinique have launched 'PopStop!'- a glamorous pop up shop in Piccadilly Circus Station where commuters will be able to touch up their make-up on the go and also purchase some Clinique favourites.

I've seen my fair share of beauty pop ups but this one is by far the most exciting to me, especially since I'm a big fan of Clinique.

Monday

OPI Venice Collection

Oh dear, OPI have done it again! They're about to launch yet another exciting collection for  Fall/Winter 2015- this time with a Venice theme, and I've fallen in love.

The collection is made up of 15 shades- including nudes, reds, pastels, and dark shades so there's definitely something for everyone. I've always wanted to go to Venice and this stunning collection makes me want to go there even more- I can honestly say that I will continue to wear each and every shade. Plus, the imagery for the collection is just beautiful.

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paints | Summer Shades

I wrote about Barry M's Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paints back in February and I raved about how brilliant they were. As a huge Barry M nail fan, I was very excited to hear that they have launched 6 new shades for the summer season and I had to get my hands on them (they're currently on offer at buy one get one 1/2 price at Superdrug). Yay!
The original line consisted of pastels which is great, but the new Summer shades are bright and tropical- and omg what an amazing colour collection it is! Three of the shades offer a glossy finish, and the other three are of a lovely frosted effect.

Make Up For Ever has landed in the UK!

The wait is over for beauty obsessives all over the UK- Make Up For Ever is now available at Debenhams! I have some pieces here that I've been playing around with for a while and wanted to share my thoughts on.

Debenhams Beauty Press Show SS15

A few weeks ago, I attended the Debenhams SS15 Beauty Press Show at the Debenhams Press Office in Oxford Street. The theme was 'Jet Set Beauty' and showcased the best of Summer beauty. There's lots of exciting products and upcoming launches from so many different brands including Dior, Burberry, OPI, DKNY, Too Faced, Make Up Forever, and Jean Paul Gaultier. Here are some photographs I snapped during the launch.

Kylie Jenner for Nip+Fab

Last Saturday, I was invited by Nip+Fab to a top secret location (which was revealed as London's Westfield) to watch a live Q&A session with Kylie Jenner and the founder of the brand, Maria. I'm a huge fan of Nip+Fab- their Dry Leg Fix has been a fave of mine for years. A lot of people have moaned that Kylie isn't the right fit for the brand, but I think she's pretty cool as she's previously raved about Nip+Fab's products on social media. Plus, the craze for lip liners have shot through the roof thanks to her, so it's a great move by Nip+Fab making her brand ambassador.

Britney Spears | Rocker Femme Fantasy Fragrance

Britney fans will be pleased to hear that Britney has launched her new fragrance, Rocker Femme Fantasy! Britney fragrances still excite me as much as they did when I was a teenager. Midnight Fantasy was a massive favourite of mine (and still is!), but I also loved Fantasy, Circus Fantasy, and Curious.

The new fragrance is captured in a 'Fantasy' bottle in the form of a gorgeous studded pink sphere with a black ombre effect and studs. The design of the packaging box is so cool as well- I love the smokey effect over the bright pink, and it definitely matches up to the fragrance's name.

Friday

NEW | Real Techniques Sculpting Set

I've met Sam and Nic (Pixiwoo) quite a few times before at press launches, and they are incredibly lovely, and I love having a chat with them! We've talked make-up, holidays, weight loss, and even the London Riots haha!

.I swear by their Real Techniques brushes and have owned the Core collection and the Eye Starter Kit for a long time. I have always found their brushes to be brilliantly efficient yet affordable. Now the girls are launching a new set called the 'Sculpting Set', which includes all the tools you need to accentuate facial features by contouring, highlighting, or enhancing natural bone structure. The set includes two existing Real Techniques brushes and a new exclusive one, all in a shiny pink colour as opposed to the matte finish of the brand's other brushes (except for Bold Metals).

Thursday

Cheryl Storm Flower and Storm Flower EDT fragrances

Cheryl fans will be pleased to hear that she will be launching her second fragrance soon, called 'Storm Flower EDT.
I've been a huge fan of Cheryl ever since my primary school days when she was in Girls Aloud, so she's been quite an influence on my life as I became a teenager. Cheryl teased us about whether she'd launch a fragrance, and when she finally announced last year that she was- it was the start of a hugely successful venture. Storm Flower exceeded its pre-orders last Summer and was one of the most popular fragrances for Christmas 2014. My little sister owns lots of celebrity fragrances by Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry... But she wanted Cheryl's.

Monday

NEW | Barry M Speedy Nail Paints

I've mentioned this before but Barry M Nail Paints are my absolute fave; they don't just launch the average 4 nail colours per season- they launch about 20 in various colours, effects, and textures! Plus, they're cheap as chips and considering the quality is good, you're getting a bargain.

For SS15, Barry M have launched a plethora of new Speedy Nail Paints aiming to well... speed up the drying time! I've noticed that loads of brands claim that their polishes are quick-drying but aren't. However, these new Nail Paints by Barry M do exactly what it says on the 'tin'. My nails dry fully after just 2 minutes of application, and when I say 'fully' I mean 'being able to rub your finger across your painted nail without ruining it' fully.

NEW Hugo Woman fragrance by Hugo Boss review

Hugo Boss recently launched a new fragrance for women, which intrigued me when I first read about it- the fragrance is known to have a slight masculine tone to it despite being a female fragrance so I had to give it a little try for myself.

It's a youthful scent with sparkling top notes of Boysenberry, heart notes of Jasmine and Black Tea (interesting!), which then settle down into a sensual amber dry down. The masculine tone kicks in during the developing of the heart notes, and is designed to redefine the conventions of female fragrances and I think Hugo Boss have managed to pull it off as it's still a scent I can imagine women still going for.

MakeUp Eraser review

MakeUp Eraser is a re-useable make up remover cloth that requires just water in order for it to work and prior to its recent launch in the UK, it proved to be incredibly popular in the US.

First of all, I love how the MakeUp Eraser is bright pink! The cloth is made of a blend of polyester silk fibre that leaves the skin feeling soft and clean at the same time. I've been using the product since December and have honestly fallen in love with it. Removing my make up at the end of the day always seemed tedious to me despite me never forgetting to, but my positive experience with the MakeUp Eraser has completely changed that and has just made the process a lot easier.

It's made my evening routine a lot easier and a lot less expensive as I've stopped using my expensive make up remover oil. It's also a very handy little product that I sometimes take with me to the gym as my eyeliner sometimes smudges after a workout if I go in the evenings after a long day.

Mini V Nutrition by Vicky Pattison | An Introduction

Geordie Shore's Vicky Pattison had already taken the fitness industry by storm with the very successful launch of her 7 Day Slim DVD. But now she's determined to go further by launching an exciting nutritional range, called Mini V Nutrition.

The range consists of health and fitness supplements as well as protein shakes and snacks, and has proved to be incredibly popular so far. A few of the products have already sold out so it's safe to say that's Vicky's done amazingly well.

What's great about the range is that Vicky has experienced successful weight-loss herself (and now looks absolutely amazing!) so she knows exactly what women need in order to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Her knowledge is evident in the concept of Mini V products, and I've actually given some of them a try!

Thursday

DKNY Delicious Delights: Dreamsicle

I'm a huge fan of DKNY fragrances, and I always get excited when they launch their annual limited edition 'Delicious' fragrance collections. For 2015, DKNY are launching a 'Delicious Delights' collection in March, consisting of three fragrances 'Fruity Rooty', 'Dreamsicle', and Cool Swirl. I recently got my hands on a press sample of Dreamsicle, and I LOVE it!

007 Fragrance for Women review

Up until now, there have been three 007 fragrances for men (007, Ocean Royale, and Quantum) and as a huge James Bond fan myself, I found them very fascinating as they all cleverly depict the complicated character of James Bond. I've always wondered whether (and hoped that) 007 would launch a fragrance for women, and that's exactly what they're going to do. Yay!

The upcoming '007 For Women' fragrance launches in early February and I love it, although I do think that 'Skyfall' would've made a better name for it. At first glance, the bottle design is very much the 'girlfriend' of the first 007 fragrance (same colour, same texture pattern). The curvy bottle with the slim top and golden strip makes the overall concept more feminine.

L'Oreal Miss Manga Punky mascara review

It was imperative for me to get my hands on the latest Miss Manga Punky mascara by L'Oreal Paris, particularly after seeing the advertising for it.

When I saw bold clumpy lashes, I kind of thought "Isn't this a step-backwards in the beauty industry?!". I mean, us girls have been trying to avoid clumped up lashes for years- why on earth would we want to purchase something that supposedly offers this, but in exaggerated form?

However after trying out the product, I've come to the interesting conclusion that it's actually not that bad, and the advertising images are an exaggeration of what the product can do.
