Viktor & Rolf Bon Bon Spring/Summer

The original Viktor & Rolf Bon Bon is incredibly iconic that's loved by millions of women. They've just launched a summer edition for 2017, and although we're not getting much sun here in the UK- this interpretation of the original is actually very good.
When brands launch limited editions of fragrances, the first thought that usually comes to my mind (until I've tried it for myself) is 'flanker'. Brands can be quite cheeky and tend to launch new versions of a product that's done really well in the market, purely for profit purposes and without a care that consumers most likely purchased it as they were a fan of the original.

Fortunately, Bon Bon Summer is a sparkling EDT that offers something a little different. It offers a slightly softer, more refreshing citrus-y twist- yet still stays true- to the boldness of the original Bon Bon (which I personally found a bit too sweet). Let's take a look at the scent notes:

Top notes: Tangerine, Grapefruit, Orange, Blackcurrant
Heart notes: Orange Blossom, Jasmine Sambac, Icing Sugar Accord, Peach
Base notes: Caramel Accord, Musk, Guaiac Wood, Cedar
The opening is fresh and clearly very fruity; the blackcurrant and grapefruit notes are particularly prominent at first spray and the Jasmine comes through rather quickly. It's a bold fruity scent and having said that, I think less is definitely more when spraying this one (despite it being an EDT- but the longevity is great).

The development of the base is slow but well worth waiting for. I love the inclusion of the caramel accord, which I would say is the main component in the overall scent. It definitely adds depth to it and makes it more sensual.
The fragrance is priced at £58 for 50ml, and is available to purchase nationwide.
