Gucci Bamboo

Gucci launched their new fragrance, Bamboo in August this year and it's received quite the attention, particularly as there are many mixed reviews out there on the scent. Plus, the gorgeous Gal Gadot is the ambassador for the fragrance.

The fragrance isn't at all new or groundbreaking, and I have to say that I was expecting something a little bit more special from Gucci. Having said that, Bamboo is definitely a lovely scent. I'm just not sure whether it's worth the £49 for 30ml price tag.

Top Notes: Italian Bergamot
Heart Notes: Casablanca, Lily, Ylang Ylang, Extra Comoros
Base Notes: Sandalwood

Described as a modern scent, Gucci Bamboo is a clean white floral that's light and pleasant, and is not at all sickly or a fragrance with too much going on. The initial burst of Italian Bergamot is powerful yet quite brief as the heart notes come in very quickly (especially the Lily), and the sandalwood base of Gucci Bamboo is just so calming.

Gucci Bamboo is very similar to Marc Jacobs' Daisy- my go-to fragrance of 2011 although I rarely wear it now as I tend to switch up my fragrances each season. The main difference between Bamboo and Daisy is the warmth of the sandalwood that makes the fragrance a lot lighter and slightly less bitter and sharp. If you've worn Daisy before, you'll know what I'm talking about.
It's a scent that everyone can enjoy due to the scent being light and inoffensive. However, if you prefer something more vibrant, I suggest you try the alluring Jimmy Choo Illicit this season. Gucci Bamboo makes a great Christmas gift for any woman who likes light, white floral scents.

Gucci Bamboo is currently available at The Perfume Shop, and is priced at £49 for 30ml, £68 for 50ml, and £80 for 75ml.
