NEW No7 Early Defence Range

Anti-ageing has always been a complicated topic, and in my opinion- some beauty brands aren't helping consumers to discover which products are right for them, so they end up learning through mistakes and a pile of unhelpful products. The anti-ageing skincare market is booming- which seems promising at first, but it can be confusing.

In December, I talked and raved about Elizabeth Arden's Flawless Future Serum- a product targeted at females in their 20s and 30s, and it was a brilliant product that provided consumers with a pinpoint of what products they could use to develop a skincare routine that helps reduce the first signs of ageing. However with the serum priced at £48 and the moisturiser at £40, the price range isn't for everyone. So it's brilliant news that No7 have launched their very own skincare range aimed at young women to help prevent and slow-down the first signs of ageing.

No7 have launched 3 products in the range; a Day cream, a Night cream, and an Eye Cream. The range makes a great introduction to the world of anti-ageing skincare which I think is incredibly important. A lot of women worry about the signs of ageing, but don't know where to start when it comes to developing a skincare routine to prevent and reduce these signs. I also think the range's tagline is brilliant: 'Slo'Mo your skin', and because of it, the younger female audience is clearly targeted.

I've used the three products for over two weeks now and I think they're brilliant. It's common for women to have a little more faith in skincare products with a hefty price tag, but No7 are allowing that to change due to its affordability and accessibility.

Day Cream- £19.50
The Day Cream "protects and boosts young skin's natural defences to help it look younger for longer". It's a lovely lightweight cream that should be applied after cleansing. It absorbs into the skin very quickly, leaving it feeling nice and supple and making it a great base for make up. It's great for sensitive skin as it's hypo-allergenic and because an SPF is already included in the formula, there's no need to apply an additional SPF.

I also noticed that the cream doesn't clog my pores up. Plus, a little goes a very, very long way. What I like to do is apply small dots of the cream over my face and then moisturise- I honestly only need a little slather of it to cover the whole area as it glides across the skin very easily.

My tip for using this product is that if you have oily skin, use a little less cream than you normally would. Because the cream was such a pleasure to apply, I used a lot on my face- making my skin become really oily during the middle of the day so I applied a little less the next day and there was no oiliness!

Night Cream- £19.50
The Night Cream is to be used after cleansing just before bedtime; it's slightly richer than the Day Cream, but is not at all sticky like the plethora of night creams I've previously tried. It absorbs very quickly so you don't have to wait around before you hit the pillow without blotting your skin with a cloth.

The cream helps the skin to recover overnight, and makes it feel beautifully moisturised without the heavy feeling, allowing it to feel a lot softer in the morning.

Eye Cream- £13.50
No matter how much time, effort and care you put into your anti-ageing skincare routine with the use of serums and wrinkle creams, you must take care of the skin around your eyes. The skin surrounding the eyes is much thinner than the skin on the rest of your face, and so specific care is necessary- you can't just extend the application of your face cream to cover this area as this will just cause puffiness and fine lines. The area can be quite sensitive and so requires a lightweight product that doesn't irritate the eyes.
The No7 Eye Cream is great, and just like a good eye cream should be: very cooling and lightweight, yet moisturising. After using the Eye Cream for over two weeks, I can definitely see the reduction in puffiness under my eyes so I can only imagine that the positive results continue over a longer period.

If you're young and are interested in starting a skincare routine but aren't sure where to begin, I urge you to try No7's Early Defence range. I love the products so much that I'm definitely going to re-purchase them once empty.

  1. I've been looking into anti-aging products but like you said I wasn't sure where to start! This range looks great though. My mum and I are big fans of No 7!
