Chanel Illusion D'ombre Eyeshadow in 'Mirage'

My favourite product from Chanel has to be their Illusion D'Ombre Eyeshadows- I currently own Emerville, Mirifique, and now the latest 'Mirage': a shimmery golden copper shade. Mirage shines beautifully in the reflection of the light, and is versatile enough to create both a day or night look.

It comes with a mini Chanel eyeshadow brush but to be honest, because the texture is so creamy I prefer to actually apply it using my finger. The colour is also very build-able so whether you prefer a subtle or a bold look, the eyeshadow can, and will deliver either. Plus, the formula being incredibly soft allows you to blend it well.

What I love most about the Illusion D'Ombre Eyeshadows is that they're so shimmery and it stays that way for hours on end. There have been countless times when I've applied a luminous eyeshadow   that had almost disappeared halfway through day, meaning that I constantly had to re-apply it.

My eyelids tend to get slightly oily, so the eyeshadow's longevity proves its excellence as it doesn't 'melt' off during the day and there's no sight of an eyeshadow crease at the end of the day. With this, re-applying or maintenance isn't really necessary. Also, I find that with the Illusion D'ombre Eyeshadow, there's no need for a primer base as the eyeshadow performs well on its own in terms of longevity and colour.

£25 for a single eyeshadow pot is of course pricey, but the payoff is absolutely amazing and I guarantee you will be converted once you give it a go- I was!

Chanel Illusion D'ombre Eyeshadows can be purchased from Boots, Harrods, Debenhams, House of Fraser, John Lewis at £25 each.

  1. This looks such a nice shade; but the Maybelline Colour Tattoo range has a similar one for so much less x

  5. Personally I think Chanel's lipsticks are the best. But strangely I have never tried any of their eye shadows. I've always been an Armani fan for eye shadows but I think next time I'm out shopping I'll most definitely look out for these Chanel ones. The way you've described it makes it sound exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you xx

  6. I use Chanel Mirifique as an eyeliner because it's so creamy and intense in colour. Mirage looks gorgeous too xo
