Onika by Nicki Minaj fragrance review

Nicki Minaj recently launched her third (main) fragrance, ONIKA and I actually think it's the celebrity fragrance to watch this Autumn/Winter, particularly around Christmas!

On her new fragrance, Nicki Minaj said: “ONIKA is my birth name; I want to share this personal side with my fans, empowering them to wear the fragrance and flaunt their own uniqueness. Sexiness is powerful – it is about feeling confident, knowing who you are and loving it.”

I own both Pink Friday and Minajesty, and I have to say that Onika is so far my favourite out of the three; it's more fruity and has more depth and mystery to the scent itself. Nicki Minaj has put together a very unique fragrance, and I think this scent will be very popular with her Barbz in the UK.

The fragrance of Onika is captured in the usual Nicki Minaj fragrance bottle, but this time with black hair and a black/gold bustier, which reminds me of the Pink Friday Christmas edition last year. The bottle design is to supposed to portray sexiness and fearlessness.

The famous bustier bottle captures a unique fruity scent that's made up of top notes of pear, mandarin, and starfruit; heart notes of waterlily, orchid, and osmanthus; and base notes of sugar cane, white musk, and cedar wood. I'm loving the whole journey of the fragrance; the fruity top notes burst through, creating a lively atmosphere and the mysterious sweet/woody dry down is very unique and flirtatious.

Onika is described as a floral fruity fragrance that's sensuous yet lively, which is true- particularly as the dominant notes are mandarin and white musk. Overall, it's a scent that encourages confidence and being yourself.

The soft fruity dry down is really nice too, and what impressed me about the fragrance was its longevity- the scent lasted over 8 hours on me. Some premium branded fragrances tend to struggle with scent longevity!

Apparently Onika is a UK exclusive, but you guys in the US were treated to a 'Minajesty Exotic' fragrance! I wonder what she has planned for her next fragrance...

Onika launches nationwide on September 17th, but can currently be purchased at Boots!
