Rogue by Rihanna fragrance review!

Rihanna's latest fragrance, Rogue which is her fourth fragrance, recently launched in the UK. I've been wanting to try this fragrance, as I loved her first fragrance Reb'l Fleur when it launched a few summers ago. I was expecting Rogue to be a super fruity chypre just like it, but I was pleasantly surprised. Don't get me wrong- I love fruity fragrances, but it was nice to see [and smell] something a little different from Rihanna!

Rogue is an interesting, oriental fragrance with a feminine touch. With a citrus-y start to the fragrance composed of Lemon, Pink Peppercorn and Bergamot notes, twisted with fruity heart notes including Plum, Jasmine, and Patchouli, which then develops into a warm aromatic fragrance consisting of Sandalwood, Golden Amber, and Vanilla Musk lingering on the skin; Rogue is definitely a flirty fragrance.

The fragrance is a warm sensual, oriental fragrance with a mixture of floral and subtle fruity kicks, and is perfect as a daytime fragrance. In particular, I love the fruity notes of plum infused with jasmine. Rogue is also a sophisticated fragrance that is also suitable to wear at work so I feel that this fragrance will be extremely popular amongst Rihanna's older fans too.

Although it reflects Rihanna's edgy personality, Rogue is a lot more mature than Rihanna's previous fragrances. Some notes are similar to the notes of Reb'l Fleur and Rebelle, including Patchouli and Vanilla so I'd say it definitely fits into the family of RiRi fragrances. I also think it smells similar to Si by Giorgio Armani.

"People are always changing and evolving, and with Rogue, my new fragrance, I wanted to switch it up to reflect who I am today. It's a personal fragrance that's more self-aware. It's Rogue, it's me."
- Rihanna

The bottle is elegantly designed, chic and expensive-looking. If I randomly saw the bottle sitting on someone's dressing table or on a perfume counter, I'd think it was a premium branded fragrance rather than a celebrity fragrance. That being said, Rogue would look so elegantly placed on a woman's dressing table. I love the textured bottle cap and the inverted spikes at the bottom of the bottle and I think that the Rogue bottle is a much cooler version of the D&G fragrance bottles!

Rogue by Rihanna retails at £23 for 30ml, £33 for 75ml, and £43 for 125ml, and can be purchased at The Perfume Shop

  1. This sounds lovely and much more up my street than her other fragrances. I can't wait to have a spray next time I'm in town.
